The ePortfolio of Zena Patton
If you're interested in my current professional pursuits, you can connect with me on LinkedIn. During my career break that started in January 2022, I engaged in various professional activities. For instance, I designed a data literacy learning experience for students new to using Tableau software and wrote about it in a blog. You can click on this link to the LinkedIn blog https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/reflection-flip-tableau-learning-experience-zena-patton to read the blog. Additionally, I created a presentation called "Dashboard Performance" to help students improve the quality of their dashboards. You can access the presentation via this LinkedIn link https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/presentation-recording-tableau-dashboard-performance-tips-zena-patton. The Dashboard Performance presentation was also featured during the April 12, 2023 StudentXCommunity Tableau User Group that aired worldwide. Currently, I am seeking a role in information services and technology. Before the pandemic of 2020, I was redesigning the organization of a special library at the zen meditation center where I practice. Since obtaining my Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree in May 2021 from the University of North Texas and the Corporate Learning Professional certificate from Georgia State University in July 2022, I have continued to offer my knowledge and skills as a consultant. I believe the knowledge and skills from the MSLS program have increased my confidence as an information professional, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge. In the corporate learning professional program, I have applied learning theories, principles, models, tools, and techniques for the systematic design of interactive learning products. Also, while participating in the program, I integrated my professional experience in performance consulting to design virtual learning ecosystems that align performance metrics, e-learning and instructional strategy. I specialize in creating personalized learning environments for accessibility, engagement, and sustaining excellent organizational performance. My best skill is aligning performance and technology with business strategy to support business goals.
I hope you will enjoy the design of my e-portfolio. The design is inspired by my first work experience as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Japan. To convey the lasting impression living in Japan has on me, I threaded a Japanese, Zen theme to my portfolio.
