  • INFO 5223, Metadata Presentation Assignment- Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
  • INFO 5814, User Centered Web Development for Information Organization Research Paper
  • The purpose of these assignments is for students to learn to research topics in metadata and web development
  • July 2020 (Summer Semester)
  •  Final grade in the INFO 5223 and INFO 5814 courses:  A

The attached artifacts of learning meets Competency 6 because of the following:

The attached research papers completed in both courses, INFO 5223 and INFO 5814, successfully fulfill this competency requirement.  Annotation 6A states that the student can employ both quantitative and qualitative methods; 6B states, the student should be able to apply "central research findings and research literature of the field"; and 6C explains that the student should employ principles and methods used to assess the actual potential and value of new research.  Both papers referenced studies that are less than ten years old.  Furthermore, this is because both research assignments discussed topics that are emerging in the library science field.

When I considered which resources I would use as a reference, I filtered my results for peer-reviewed scholarly articles only.  The data collection methods covered in the articles addresses both quantitative and qualitative methods.  I enjoy the research assignments, and I feel that my previous graduate and professional work in research shines in these assignments.
